Hangman's Waltz

by Jersey D Gibson

Start the show with the main attraction,
and we'll play it to you with satisfation.
And up to the gallows, comes the star,
performing to you, he won't be under par.

Such a great tie around his neck,
both feet planted firmly on the deck.
He'll say something so cute and clever,
and now it's time to pull the lever.

His feet move fast, oh how they kick,
watch as he gives that routine another lick.
Toes flex, legs move, watch him go,
but now the tempo begins to slow.

The hangman's waltz is getting him tired,
and after this he will retire.
Wasn't that the best performance of his life?
next on up will be his wife.
