The Man in the Moon by Thomas K. HuntWhat ever happened to the man in the moon? Years ago days moved slower in June Lines in reflections Lines on my face Connecting lines that stretch from place to place No one knows of the sight from these eyes It's been my own All the truth and the lies Life just happens with each passing day You know the feeling But can't see it slip away Fond memories from the time of yesteryear When days were long Filled without fear Responsibility is a harmful infliction It feeds on your life with great conviction It steals your innocence Robs you of time Through it all it's just you and your mind What ever happened to the man in the moon? He just faded away He left too soon I've heard it said you can never go back The further you go you get further off track You need to realize that we all just fade away Like the man in the moon And a lazy summer day

Posted by Anne Engelen on 04/02/03 at 06:19 AM "The futher you go you get futher off track" I like to believe the opposite though. The further one goes, the further you'll get on your path, the close you'll get to your final destination.
Wonderful read though! |
