Peace of Mind

by Thomas K. Hunt

I was searching
Searching for that place
I didn't have a clue
I couldn't find a trace
I took a walk
I had to walk on out
I kept on walking
Til no one was about
I stopped in the silence
Lost from all sound
I had to find that place
I knew it could be found

I laid down softly
In a feather field of grass
A gentle summer breeze
Brushed my face then slowly passed
I laid in the warmth
In the comfort of that place
I knew that I had found it
As the sun caressed my face
I closed my eyes and drifted
I had finally found that place

Great poem, lucky you. A lot of us are still looking.

I love it when the answer is in front of our eyes but it takes quiet, even "giving up" to recognize it. Very well said.
