we both taste the same in spring

by Olivia Weinkein

you opened your legs
and let a sigh escape
i
have learned to talk
with my hands, everything
else closed. no visitors
to welcome. no faces
to forget.
but we both taste the same
in spring. and i ask you
where you learned to sing
like that but questions are
harmless bees you allow to
swarm around your head
never feeling the need to
answer them. nor do you
swat them away, saying, you'd
"much rather have the company"
and you leave me
with nothing significant to say
except
"i could use the company myself"
and
"we both taste the same in spring."

Very earthy with a jaded sensuality. I love the flow this work has and the images it conveys.
