American Pride

by Michelle Calhoun

Let us all give three cheers for the
red, white, and blue,
And the American soldiers
so proud, so true.
They fight for our freedom
because freedom's not free.
They gladly lay down their lives,
for you and for me.
They proudly stand on the wall
and keep watch through the night.
They say, "Not on my shift,"
for Freedom is our right.
They believe in "one nation under God"
for us all.
For Liberty and Justice,
they will all stand tall.
So next time my friend that you are
scared and filled with doubt,
I say "Don't you worry"
for God is always near.
He is always glad to listen
to his children so dear.
The American soldiers are watching over us,
God put them there for us all to trust.

Your patriotism is proudly showing. It is refreshing!

I can just say thank you. Those that serve rarely seek acknowledgement or thank-yous but appreciate it when it comes nonetheless.
