Red, White, and Blue

by Adrian Calhoun

Running was never an option or thought.
Every man freely came to serve,
Death perhaps their destiny.

Winning at all costs,
Hopes of freedom and liberty
In their hearts.
To die was in honour,
Even those who survived, died inside.

And

Bloodied heros came home from hell.
Love at home, and for their country kept them going.
United States of America,
Every soldiers pride.

This poem has a universal timeless quality to it. In every generation there are those who must--will stand strong and some will fall for the ideals of American liberty.
