cLuMsY

by Olivia Weinkein

you're clumsy
but i love you
(maybe even because
of your clumsiness)
although it keeps you
from saying the right things,
taking the right steps and keeps
me from ever catching up with you
or moreso, hanging back.
but most days, it is appropriate,
helps to even out my straightforward
steps that always cut right to the
point, to the edge and over, over it,
stumbling.
(you make me clumsy too sometimes ya know)
but i doubt you would ever love me for it.
it's alright. you can fall all over yourself
for as long as you like.

you're clumsy
but i love you

and i always have
and i always will
(yes, i am clumsy too sometimes ya know)

Loving with your being. Loving for what one is. You said this. Love becoming part of an understanding.
