Movement Unnatural

by Megan Langley

Ribbons blow in the wind.
Swirling, turning, 'round the curves.
Movement unnatural.
Twisting
Or floating away.
Gaining height as it lifts,
Defying gravity.
But will gravity inevitably win?
Must it return,
Drifting down,
Down until it hits the solid pavement?
No more swirling or twisting.
It simply lies flat,
Lacking movement
Until the wind returns once again,
And it will disappear into thin air.
