A Spring Fling in January by Megan LangleySo, what would you call this thing that we had?
A spring fling in January perhaps?
Dont be afraid to be glad
That this fling decided to lapse
Into an unexpected intermission
Or even into the curtain close,
Because it seems to me that the mission
Was for you to merely throw me a rose
Like satisfying a dog with a bone
When desire takes its toll.
I needed someone to call my own
And you arrived while I lacked control
In the current pressing situation.
So, would you say that Im being silly
By being anxious over our mixed-up combination,
Or, on the other hand, do I really
Have a legitimate reason for concern?
Because now that you are gone,
Im beginning to recognize this burn
That arises with each dawn
Of a day in which I miss being wanted.
I realize it was for a short time anyway,
But I still feel as though I'm being haunted
By you, but I guess I'll end up okay.
