sunsfirst love

by Graeme Fielden

after the sunset of loves first rise
babbling brooks and sweeping breezes through the field,
loves first touch. virtue enslaved
And charlatans quibber at first hand dealt.

after the love lock the pauper's touch
young lovers urging through the dell
combining forces so stay or go
to stay a death of self.

unlock the phial and then to drink
sweet pleasant yet forbidden juice
the fruit of eve, she lies to stand
and falls before the moon.

after the sunset of suns first rise
befallen virtues, high on wings
soaring droves of heaven's flock
that lies beneath him, still.

after the sea scrub the ice burg touch
the crackle of ice and flow of cold water felt
over bows of springed saplings, over the meadows
enraptured the moment in loves autumn morn.

after the lightning, the suicide stare
juliet's tear and romeo's final breath
the death of self is given forth
to die within a mirror's face.

you had me at babbling brook... actually, whilst reading, all i could think of was shakespeare and the romeo's and juliet's of the world... and o and behold, there they were... this is so loftly and lovely and lushious... pure beauty... blessings...

Wow, okay, this is so rich, I really like this one. I make wierd connections but it was fun all the side-winding things that I pulled out of this piece! And, I'd have to disagree with Lori, I wouldn't want it read to me! Probably because it reminds me of things I would write about...!! (woah, so writing that's a little death in a mirror's face, an ego-slapping thing to think in some ways) Oh, but i really just loved this, so shakespearianish your talent! :) thanks for sharing it
