floie

by Emily G Myers

the most...
I can't think of her without crying
it's a part of our bond
we share . t . e . a . r . s .
rightalongwith
blood
& DNA
& breasts
& hips
& most all things physical

emotional too

I could not exist without her
& I'm not just referring to a womb

when I was in Heaven -
. Heavenly . Father .
said she'd be the very perfect
. Earthly . Mother .

her fear
her self-consciousness
her strength
her resolve
her determination
her love

I am who I am because of her
I could never be the woman she is
I draw every drop of hope and purpose from her

her

hazel eyes
red hair
freckles & pale skin
the most beautiful womanly curves your eyes have ever beheld
a shape I'd kill for
those amazing legs
princess-perfect-pedicured feet
I wish I were as beautiful as she is

I've never known any woman as stunning

& I owe her everything

Author's Note: I don't really know what to say here. My mother is my reason for... just so many things. She's the reason I believe that girls aren't so bad, that I can learn from them. She's the reason I believe in love, that it really can happen and will. She's the reason I'm in school. She's the reason I'm alive. She's the reason for me. I think I never really understood the big thing about my mother until this school year... she's my best friend. She said I was her best friend and I said "Yeah, you know, you're right." And that being said, there are so many things about her that make her the most loveable woman ever. She's easy to be best friends with. I don't think any of the women I'll write about in this folder will get anywhere near to my mother. She's the queen of the "Femininity" folder, for sure. I couldn't do any of this (um, life in general) without her.

Emily, your poem about your mother is achingly beautiful. Your tribute to her is excellent. I'm so happy the two of you are friends! Congratulations on the POTD!
