Jen by Adrian CalhounSomewhere quietly in the night,
she slipped away from us.
No reason was given, only left to wonder why,
and left with feeling partly responsible.
Did anyone even notice her passing,
did anyone even care.
Maybe these are the very reasons she gave up.
Nobody took the time to talk to her,
nobody paid attention to her.
Her voice may have been her only comfort,
in a world that left her isolated and cold.
Her heart needed to be loved,
her soul needed a companion,
the same as all of us.
But a whisper in the fog shrouded dawn,
a light hidden underneath the cloak.
Her words spoken soft as rain,
her life laid out, exposed to the masses.
Yet she went unnoticed, and alone. 03/12/2003 Author's Note: I shall see you in other places my friend. *s*

Posted by Quentin S Clingerman on 03/14/03 at 02:31 AM I wondered what had happened. I know I very recently responded to a comment she made on one of my poems and I commented on one of hers as I recall. I hope I didn't offend her is some way! You have caught the gentleness of her heart and mind I think. |
