how many promises can we break

by Olivia Weinkein

Rage
we weaved
i cried he laughed.
hold still
bend over
find a middle ground
and lie there.
take turns
take my trust
take my hands and swear
you'll never go there.
that place
that space
inside of me
that always sends them
running.
say you will find something
soft. say i can yield
to your thrust. say you
will sleep here. say you
will stay.
that place
that space
inside of me
that always sends you
running away. then i promise,
i won't drift.
i won't drift.
i won't drift, i cried.

he laughed.

and slowly, i'm drifting away.

Good work. Maybe tidy up the breaks and punctuation (unless that's something youwere going for). Otherwise, nice job! -Mina
