Next to the Pressed Flower by Melina Raven Maness DieboldInside my Bible
bookmarks are there
invitations to weddings
sad programs to funerals too
A pressed flower
the one you put in my hair
that night at the fair
A baby pin, poked through
a pastel paper
announcing my niece's birth
And a bookmark
printed for our big day
5 years ago today
now, for naught
In inked remembrance
of our mistake 03/12/2003 Posted on 03/12/2003 Copyright © 2025 Melina Raven Maness Diebold

Posted by Rhyana Fisher on 03/12/03 at 06:59 AM i like the list form and the way it all ties together at the last line. mistakes, yup, now there's something i can well understand even if i've never committed that particular one. |
Posted by Anita Mac on 03/13/03 at 07:53 AM A well done reflection, bittersweet though it is. |
Posted by Jeanne Marie Hoffman on 08/30/05 at 03:15 AM Sounded like it was going to be sweet, and then just turned around at the end. Good job |
