Tis Sweet the Spring

by Mary Ellen Smith

Tis sweet this promise of the spring
What greenery the rain will bring.
A new surprise with every bloom.
A fragrant quilt from nature’s loom.

Tis soft the way the breezes kiss
Us with the warmth that we did miss.
And takes the now unfrozen earth
From sleepy slumber to rebirth.

Tis wonderful to hear a bird
The first since winter left is heard.
Singing from a branch on high,
Where soon her baby birds will fly.

Tis wondrous then to contemplate
Even tho the spring be late,
Butterflies and seeds and bees
And a new green dress for all the trees!

Beautiful poetry. A fresh vivid painting you have cast in the minds eye. I am ready for spring myself. Great writing M.E. : )

You work your magic with the rhyming. A Spring time delight, surely puts the winter blues to flight, just reading of Spring's promise bright!

Your brush is filled with surprising wonder, your canvas a paradise. Good energy, ME. Peace...

And 'tis so lovely to see the dressin' of the trees. The lilac, the dogwood and redbud fair. And all those fruit trees bloomin' for the bees.
