God's Tools

by Adrian Calhoun

Immoral, unethical,
behavior that is "morally bankrupt."
These people condemned,
some left to question life,
and their very existance in the aftermath.

Words have been thrown and exchanged,
from both sides of the arguement.
Many were negative,
and many people have now been hurt.
Apologies came for some,
for others,
the damage had already been done.

As a Christian,
I was left to wonder.
Exactly how do you define,
"morally bankrupt"
and then tell someone they are.

I agree, as a Christian,
there are immoral people among us,
but I also believe, as a Christian,
that these are the very people I need to talk to.

The people who "believe" and attend church
don't need saving, or to find Jesus Christ.
It is the people of the world,
those we come in contact with everyday,
who we "Christians" need to be talking to.

If we exclude these people,
or criticize them and their lifestyle,
we do not reflect Christs love,
or a "Christian" attitude.

How can you expect to help anyone come to Christ,
if you pass judgement on them first.
I myself am guilty of this very problem,
and I pray for all of us.

I pray we reflect Christ,
instead of reject those seeking Him.
I pray we learn to be humble,
to swallow our pride,
and to turn the other cheek.

Vengance and judgement are God's tools,
so are love, mercy, and compassion.
We must be tools for God to use,
not tools that use God.

Indeed food for thought! Listening to and accepting of is not the same as approval of! As Christians sometimes we get the cart before the horse! We want to do what the Holy Spirit reserves to himself, conviction of sin! Good poem Adrian.

That is right..Jesus hung out with the ones who needed saving...always with an abundance of grace.
