Buzzspark

by Meredith C Hartwell

His fingers
brushtouch my leg
unexpected, accidental,
shooting sparks from
knee to groin and
back again while she
sings
"She's addicted to Nicotine
patches"
and I cannot help but
smile
as he stretches digits
toward contact
again.

Yes, love,
it's still there,
but the buzz fades
faster
these days.

Very well done. And that is the way of things, eventually the exitement of something new gradually gives way to the comfort of something familiar. Hopefully we can hold onto a few sparks though.
