Pillow Talk

by Ryan M Evon

Soft words in a soft warm whisper
drift from my lips into your ear.
Deeper then "I love you"s, heart ramblings,
massage your heart and ease you mind.

No matter the weight of my weary
I will whisper these words each night
into your ear. I'll be there,
quietly speaking words, caressing
your ear with warm breath until you
drift into slumber with my words
of love fresh in your mind.

I may lie talking long after you sleep,
to guide you past any troublesome
nightmares. My love, you shall not feel
any pain as long as I can stand to
protect. When you are safe, then
I may collapse at your side,
but I would rather look upon that angelic face
then actually sleep myself.
