Paintings and Flyers by Scott Cadence
Send me
send away
On the Horizon
Like times before
Its takes off
Entraps
the morning air
as the flaps fold in,
laying perfectly -
an envelope
a picture
and my name
It arrives
- Anticipated
Its box faces
Beaten and worn
Seen the inside of foreign hangers
And changing hands
I carry it home
try to imagine it
under final strokes
of your careful restoration
drying by the same sun
that enters the studio
and touches your skin
where paint has caught
elbows
moved between fingers
at temples and brows
where frequent backhand strokes
have placed - gold and blushing hue
and come later days
found the insides of jewelry
kissed the same
I stare off toward the Palo Alto skies
Sooner to you than I -
Where Your colors
un-affixed
Smear in the sunset (traveling)
Rubicund
painting anointed
my skin
Where exhales end in smiles
and writing only reminds me
Of how much
You are missed
