Curse of Love

by Christopher Shin

She has squeezed the last
drop of my emotions from
my heart in her talon like
grasp.

No more do I desire to
feel the pain anymore.
All emotions for her and
all her brood will never
be in my eyes no more.

Her trickery and deceit
will not break these
chains that I have
placed over my weary heart.

No longer will I be tricked
by the blue doe eyes that
has drawn many like the sirens
of the sea.

Nor will I dash so effortlessly
into the open sea to see your
beauty that would draw many to you.
No longer will I war against my
soul for you.

For you see I don't need this
vicious arrow that you have flung
into my heart.

I curse you Cupid for the arrows
you have given me for they are useless
in my eyes, because I can not use
the arrows to ensare the one
that I wish to be with in all times.
