wishing by Emily G MyersI have to live everyday
- wishing -
I wish I were your pillow
your clothes
your front door
your books
something you see and touch everyday
a part of your routine
I wish I were the snow
the wind
the cold
the moon
or just anything at all
to get close to you
I wish I could fly
or run marathons
I wish I were a sailor
I wish I'd gotten my driver's license
any mode would do
if it would get me to you
and I have to live everyday
- knowing -
you won't see or touch me
I'm not a part of your routine
nothing supernatural or otherwise
can bring me to you
like Psyche on the wind
and I have to live everyday
- wishing -

Posted by Meghan Helmich on 09/03/08 at 04:17 PM but if you were the cold weather, wouldn't you ultimately drive the subject away? *hugs* good poem, emily. |
