And then I woke up by Amy NiggelDarkness crept into my room last night,
it'd been so long since I'd seen its form,
It slipped in in the middle of the night,
and slithered on my floor,
dark and smoke like,
swirling and writhing,
forming itself into shapes I had long forgotten.
It engulfed me,
swallowed me whole,
and I was lost in a sea of ink,
swiming in it,
drowning in it,
letting it wash me,
making me less clean with every moment.
Lost in that darkness,
screaming silently at the top of my lungs.
and no one heard.
The darkness ate me alive last night,
and no one was there to stop it.
Finally the dawn broke,
and those first crusading rays entered my world,
and then something changed,
the darkness was no more than a nightmere,
and daylight shown brightly in my face,
and I wondered for a moment,
what had that darkness told me,
what had it whispered,
hissed into my ear?
Something about you,
about me,
about us,
and daylight broke,
and then I woke up. 02/12/2003 Author's Note: I know I was dreaming something really important last night I just have no clue what the heck it was! I hate it when that happens!! Grrrrrrrr.
