Afraid To Commit (to T.A.)

by Melanie A Bennett

I know the future scares you
You don’t like to plan ahead
Children? Just forget it
Marriage? Just the word…you dread

There are so many things out there
On which we don’t agree
The only thing I know for sure
Is that I love you…and you love me

I suppose that’s all that matters
We don’t have to be the same way
We don’t have to plan our future yet
We can take it day by day

Just remember sweetheart
I’ve never cared this much before
And if it doesn’t work out between us
I don’t want to date no more

I can honestly tell you
From the bottom of my heart
I never want to leave you
Don’t want our differences to tear us apart

I’ll always love you honey
No matter what you do
Even if you are scared
I still want my future with you

Author's Note: This is just a cute poem that I thought of on the spur of the moment about my wonderful boyfriend. The poem is kind of random and not written that well...but it was just my feelings pouring out...I will welcome any suggested changes. :) Enjoy!

I like it this way. Nice easy flow, with a great expression of emotion and wonderful rhymes. It's got a soft feel to it. Very lovely. I also like the title as it is.

Yes, its honest but a bit prosaic. I think this needs some generalization too, so that it becomes easy for the reader to get identified with.No doubt that this speaks and speaks in no uncertain terms.Straight from the heart.
