this will paint you blue someday
when you happen to look back at
the one who took something from
you that you will never have again.
when you remember that first time,
that first taste of heat & salt,
the electricity in the air.
the feeling of completion in a sense.
dare i say, transformation.
a caterpillar to a butterfly.
a boy into a man.
well, ok.
a boy into a more experienced boy.
whatever.
but you will remember and it will
paint you blue and years on down the
road, i will remember too but probably
with less emotion because everything
you've taken from me is not as permanent
as what i've taken from you.

Author's Note: maybe you will look back fondly, or maybe with regret. but you WILL look back. and i will still have it. and there is nothing you can ever do about that.
