plagued angels by Leah Laibeni swear:
i'll burn it to the ground one day,
this closet, basement, attic
where my secrets reside,
where my private life hides.
where little boys touch little girls
and little girls don't tell-
holding onto innocense is hell,
but they'll never let it show.
We'll all remain angels as we go
through our lives,
as we have children
after we've become wives,
and don't be surprised
if someday that surreal world caves in
because as you know,
little boys become men
and
i swear:
one day i'll burn it to the ground 01/28/2003 Author's Note: I know this needs work. Maybe I'll get around to it someday, maybe not...

Posted by Olivia Weinkein on 01/29/03 at 12:11 AM omg, this rocks...one of my favorites (and NO i am not just saying that) and it doesn't need work... but hey was thinkin'...when you do decide to pick up those matches and light it up, i bet there's a certain firefighter who would come with the quickness to put it out hahaha..jk, but anyway, LOVED this. the end. |
