As You Wink, A Silver Gleam

by Amanda Conlogue

Translucent moon, I see
Straight through you into
The darkening night and watch you
Solidify with the sun’s daily demise
I waver as you wink, a silver gleam
Casts strange shadows upon me
I search for answers
In their waxing-waning shift
Stars hidden amongst clouds
Can give no guidance, time
Twists into infinity’s figure eight
I bend with it, lost
In the curves of my quest
The moon slips behind
The clouds and I am cast
In an indigo darkness of doubt
But somehow, I know the answers
Are there, maybe in the rising sun’s rebirth
