Half Moon

by Amanda Conlogue

She said
Something is wrong
I don’t know what it is
As she stared
Up at the sky
Too cloudy to see stars
I could barely see
The half moon
Of her face
I touched her cheek
It was cool and wet
I didn’t know
What to do
So I did nothing
Listening
To her whimper
Everything else
quiet
