Continental Drift by Amanda ConlogueI was formed by years
Of volcanic build-up
Lava cooled to firmness
By endless watery expanses
Now, I am a speck
In the midst of an
Abrasive sea, set forth
To wear me back
To my beginnings,
Watching me with
Cold, turbulent eyes
And I stare back
Alone in silence, in love
With my view of the steady,
Immovable mainland.
