alright, so we're just "friends" now
although i'd rather not be,
am not accustomed to befriending
those who are hell-bent on
hurting me. but because we once
shared a space together between
the sheets, i'm willing to put on
a friendly face the next time that
we meet. funny how everything
was different then when we shared
a cover. course that was a long time
ago, we didn't have to be friends,
we only had to be lovers. odd that
i didn't see it before all those nights
you slept next to me, how important
it is to be both friends and lovers,
not just lovers being friendly.
