Take this day for instance by Ginette T BelleIt was born breathing blue ice into my ears
And I wondered why my eyes bothered awakening at all
Why my body didn't just laugh and roll over
Singing quietly in the sheets
The sun shooting deception through the window
And still I ran for the warm water
And when the smell of apple pie couldn't cure me
I hugged my guitar and let it speak to me for a while
But it's like me. It hasn't anything good to say in the morning.

| Posted by Rachelle Howe on 08/29/03 at 04:02 AM *laughing* this is cute. I *love* the line, "I hugged my guitar and let it speak to me for a while" ... the ending definitely catches the reader by surprise. nice. |
