Balloon Animals

by Amanda Conlogue

Parades of thoughts
Word balloons
Revolve then float
Away with your promises
All flash and translucence.
You're a clumsy clown
Who's twisted me
Into pretty shapes
I should've know
Sooner or later
I’d pop.
And you'd
Leave me
Deflated.

Metaphor to die for...thoughts to chew over in admiration! Well done
