They made me dust and scrub and wipe and shine everything from the bottom up today.
I'm allergic to dust, and I have bad knees.
Today was a bad day at work.

I inhaled a mess of cleaning products
Cut open my finger and managed to get cleaning solution in the wounds
Scraped my arm
and got my mom's brand new pants full of soot.
Today was a bad day at work.

"Go ring!" they said as I washed my oily hands
I ingested the disgusting water to wash the cleaning solution taste out of my mouth.
Today was a bad day at work.

I rang. I rang in my now wrinkled pants.
My disheveled hands whisked away as I bagged their electronic goods and handled all of that dirty money.
I dropped several credit cards on the floor. I had to get on my aching knees to retrieve them.
Today was a bad day at work.

Lunch break came. Finally came.
After I had been there for the 4 most grueling hours of my life.
My food tasted horrible and my hands wouldn't get clean.
They just wouldn't get clean.
My sister came along.
Today was a bad day at work.

Another four grueling hours passed.
Credit cards dropped.
Terrible music playing.
Cranky people.
CPO's to fill out.
Keyholders to call.
More than usual.
Today was a bad day at work.

The dog ate the insole of my shoe.
My feet had no cushioning at all.
I was on my feet and knees and feet and knees for 8 hours non stop.
No cushions for either.
Today was a bad day at work.

I feel like a pregnant woman.
My back hurts and my head hurts and I'm irritable and craving pickles.
I just want to be left alone.
I want to sleep.
But I want to go out and play -- celebrate the hard work I put in, but I don't have the energy.
I missed out on a day with my boy and my friends.
Today was a bad day at work.
