Late Night

by Christopher Shin

I try to slumber in the middle of the
night when the stars so full twinkle
in the soft black night,
but all I can do is think about you.

They tell me to forget,
but I am clueless without you.
You were a friend,
but all I wanted was your heart.
You see I was sort of glad
to find a treasure
like yourself.

The way you flicked your ruby
hair in the night sky.
As if the world really didn't
matter how grim and sad it
was as long as you had
the crimson locks.

I remember the snow colored
skin that you had and
the ruby redy lips that
matched your hair.
I remember the perfume
that you splattered over you
skin.

Only to sit here as the
sun dawns it's chariot
with gallop across
the evening sky.
Good bye forever,
and maybe I'll meet
you in between

The whole stanza about ruby hair and the night sky speaks speaks to me of love and vibrance.
