The World I Fell In Love With

by Jersey D Gibson

Sunny days,
funny ways,
sitting on Saturdays,
watching morning cartoons.

Bleakness is on,
those days are gone,
watching the world
crash all too soon.

Working every day,
the skies are grey,
all I do now
is sit and cry.

Look at that child,
sitting with a smile,
thinking of those days,
love to give it a try.

Plays and parks and rolling logs,
tag and frizbee and puppy dogs;
Sun and stars and catching fire flies,
but that world has said its' goodbyes.

The world I fell in love with,
I have outgrown.

Too bad we only realize that after we outgrew it huh? First thought after reading this is, better let my kids enjoy being a kid growing up goes too fast anyway. Thanks Jersey for that reminder!
