Seasons by Beth K HannahWell my faithful rose
I suppose
I should get moving
Close the door
My dear,
When did you become so beautiful?
In autumn the leaves turn
The animals sleep
The kids quiet down
Whispers of snow fill ears
And you are utterly symbolic.
The petals fell from my daisy
The sun turned away in shame
You were still there for me
Even as the heat rose
And I melted down. 12/31/2002 Author's Note: Not sure who this is for or why I wrote it.

Posted by Don Coffman on 08/15/03 at 09:16 AM It's good no matter what the reason. The last two lines make for a great ending. The first stanza is especially good, sort of nonchalant and then poof, noticing the beauty. Great stuff. :) |
