The Morning After by Britt ZimmermanShe memorized every inch of his body
with her tongue
mapped it out centimeter by
centimeter
looked deep into his soul
kissed
touched
caressed
and he held her
wrapped her tight
in his arms
until the earths movement
pulled them into morning light
And as she left him
in quiet infantlike sleep
to step into the biting winds
of daylight
she noticed the moon
still hung suspended
and awkward in the sky
a circle
of white against blue
empty
and changed
jaded into reality...
