Pretty papers
Every one.
Valentines when they are done.
Scalloped edges cut just so.
Lacey, embellished.
Little pink bow.

Pretty papers
Heartfelt red.
Penned sweet nothings that are said.
Satin ribbons trimmed to please.
Conversation candies
Meant to tease.

Pretty papers
Enveloped.
Love’s sweet outcome as the hope.
Mr. Postman, I’d be remiss
Not to seal it
With a kiss.
