A glint in the blade (warning twisted poetry)

Shoulda known all along
He, every womans boy toy
Tall, handsome, strong,
would wriggle his way into my heart
and feed there like maggots
on rotting flesh
Should have known
Mr. Flirtatious
with the big strong hands
and arms that make a woman feel safe
would choke every ounce of respect
from my soul
Should have seen
it coming like a load of bricks
crashing down upon my skull
but the daylight faded
fast to night
and blinded me
now I am only a tiny flicker
in the glint of the blade
he stabbed me with

Author's Note: sorry old memories tend to resurface occasionally and I tend to get a little dark and twisted with my poetry. but it feels good to let it out once in a while dont you think?

ive felt this way before, but never seen it expressed so purely. the twist at the end is remarkable.
