Is This Me?

by Jersey D Gibson

Look at this disgrace,
staring at me in the mirror;
it is everything I've hated,
and everthing I fear.

What do I hear from my lips?
all the lies that I want to be true;
but you believe me,
don't you?

-Is this me,
-can't you see?
-I feel I can't take it anymore.

-This is me,
-don't you agree?
-I'm feeling I won't care anymore.

They found a way to kill me,
sending shivers down my spine;
no matter how much I hate myself,
this messed-up life is mine.

Seems every path I take,
only leads to nowhere;
and then, out of the blue,
the bullets scream from somewhere.

-Is this me,
-a tragedy?
-horrid reflection with gun in hand.

-This is me,
-now you see?
-ending my life would be so grand.

Your words offer a glimmer of prosperity and reliance. You have opened the door for us to see all there is to see including you. I expect you'll be removing all doors soon. Good stuff Jersey. Peace...

Draws me into your anger and frustration.
