I Look Down

by Jersey D Gibson

The last thing I ever want to hear from you,
is the words 'Good-bye'.
I can't stand to see you leaving,
it always makes me cry.

The feelings that I have for you,
to me, are so unique.
The thought that I can't be with you,
the prospect seems so bleak.

-I look down
-to my empty hand,
-and I don't see you there.

-One more moment
-can I have one more kiss?
-life seems to be so unfair.

Now you've gone and walked away,
but it was all my fault.
I know exactally what I'm missing,
now my heart's at a halt.

Sitting alone, oh so by myself,
I feel like I'm worth a dime.
God, how I wish that I was with you,
can't wait to turn back time.

-I look down
-to my broken heart,
-it takes you for it to be complete.

-One more time
-can I have one more chance,
-I promise that history won't repeat.
