::a simple jingle completes my day::

by Bethany Lee

as i sit contented,
contented with glass swirls and herb,
herb mingling with sandalwoodsmoke,
smoke floating in front of the screen,
screen showing a little hobbit leading,
leading me and many others through middle-earth,
middle-earth the dreamland on our tongue,
tongue with catlove roughness from rajha,
rajha on top of blanket,
blanket on top of lap,
lap warm with purr purr purr...

if only i could purr...

rajha jumps from my lap,
lap loses warmth,
warmth returns right quick,
quick my heart pounds from a distant sound,
sound i adore,
adore, do i, the jingle of keys in the lock,
lock turned left and forward push,
push up from the couch, i spring,
spring into lover's embrace,
embrace lasting wishfulfilled minutes,
minutes not near long enough,
enough i have had of this halfheartedness,

now i am whole again,

again,

i am complete...

Beautiful and serves as a reminder to what is truly important.
