Believe again

by Amy Niggel

Breathe,
slowly,
feel the frigid air of this winter morning filling each
tiny
alveoli.
Think
camly
about what you worried you had lost, did you really think you
held
it?
Speak
softly
as you contemplate the words pouring forth is it too much to
say
outloud?
Move
cautiously
as you pause before each step wondering will this one make you
fall
forever.
Trust
fully
that just this once things will not turn to dust in your hands and it will
be
alright.
Feel
everything
as though it were the first time today, the past is finally
behind
you.
So
Breathe
in and out in and out and let yourself
believe
again

Author's Note: Hmm yeah know this form is wierd but it was the way my mind was working at the time, a couple of slow well planned important words followed by a rushed line of my own fears and hopes.

the form is fine, Amy...it is an evocation of deeply held thoughts and feelings...and what else is poetry in the end?
