Atomsphere

by Ginette T Belle

I chose to drown in my own little puddle today
Indulging in rich food and expensive wine
Pooring tears into the music
That flooded my temporary little space
Swaying in the dark, feeding my moodiness
Driving myself into the evening
With astounding swiftness
Can't help seeing my straight road
Stretching out, no bends or turns
Laid out like a poppy field in front of me
Lips always on fire
Struggling to put it out
Heart ready to bleed into the background
Mind just ready to bleed

"Can't help seeing my straight road Stretching out, no bends or turns" ...we stand at the cusp of our finite infinity thinking that it will never change. The road holds no surprises, but hoping on the edge of our seat that it does. So much can be brought from these words. Great read.
