remembering that there is no time

by Indigo Tempesta

two sides, my life

one underneath.

[inhale; the world lightens:]

i am...in high school.

i hide my poems beneath my philosophy notes.

gracelessly i swim i swarm

through hallways through

bodies through

my time on earth,

on my way to schoolwork.

[inhale:]

i am in a library.

i have an exam tomorrow;

for two days i've been studying:

i am tired.

my roomate runs up

and we run off into the snow before christmas.

[breathe:]

i see myself; i recognize

me.

in warmth, i am smiling, i am happy;

reaching out i accept, i lift,

i embrace the tiniest, my child.

over her fragile shoulder

he and i share eyes

we share something inside

finally i feel

i am home.

[open eyes:]

drinking lemonade

i turn to see myself

writing psalms

wringing hands

--when am i?

i am home.

i see my world

i swim between.

Enjoyed this, good use of colour. Certainly conveyed a feeling of "no time"
