reverie

by Oliver Drewman

reverie has within its place
room for more
a true embrace
found within its shores deep wells
the cave of trust
where dampness trells
or is it trills
this lovers chorus
or is it thrills
this beating roars
crashing tide against the walls
beating rock to sand
then falls
the peaceful lap of white beach foam
with touches intimate
the Rome
of heady hedonism gone
the conquering hero quiets the shouts
of ever praising mindless throngs
to listen to
quiet reverie's song

Now there is a well crafted verse you can sink your teeth into. Great message Oliver. Peace...
