::reaching quintessence:: by Bethany Leethe world is too beautiful
to breathe with black lungs;
inhaling negativity...
in the past i covered my skin
in
blacksilk, midnight velvet...
for the stars in the sky
held my puppet strings...
i wrote waterfalls of words
for lab-experiment emotion to drown in, face first...
but a new dawn rises
on the parallel horizon,
and my smile reflects the sunrise...
lips and cheeks spreading,
as clouds sailing on world'round journies...
the questions i ran in circles asking,
have answers on the other side of the rainbow...
the side where colours collide with your heart...
and there's no way possible to feel under-joyed...
and god speaks when you speak
and god listens when you listen
i hear her voice
singing lullabies to keep souls afloat
in the dreamboat they were meant to travel on...
and the riverwater is clear, and i
can see the starfish and seahorses on the otherside
and further past those wonders,
i see planets undiscovered,
portions of which we all inhabit...
and we know how to get there... (follow the breadcrumbs...)
we just chose to forget for a moment,
so that we may have the renaissance of remembering...
again...
again...
again....
oh yes!! again! 11/20/2002 Posted on 11/20/2002 Copyright © 2025 Bethany Lee
