Gone & Long Forgotten

by Jersey D Gibson

I'm just a shell,
can't you see?
That there's nothing
left of me.

Unfilled and hollow,
with skin and bone.
You left me here
to be alone.

-And I'm gone,
-and forgotten,
-nothing more than a memory.

-And I'm alone,
-and frightened,
-dead and gone, it's so scary.

Just look back,
when you do.
What will people,
think of you?

Now you're gone,
and not immortal.
You're just a memory,
so damn incorporal.

-And you're gone,
-and forgotten,
-nothing left of you but a name.

-And you're gone,
-so long forgotten,
-just a tomestone left to blame.
