The Ticket

by Anne Engelen

I’m ready for my date with fate

Got my ticket to fly

Meet her, look her right in the eye

Last time I stood her up

Couldn’t face her face to face

Now I’m ready to get the answers

To the questions I tried to erase

I’ve travelled the world to find myself

Hiding from and running to

I'm cashing in my rain cheque

Facing fate and also you

Apparently a ticket ordinair

Turns out to be so much more

Than a travelpermit by air

It’s a ticket to my future

A ticket to change my life

A round trip across the ocean

Setting my world in motion

Changing everything

I hope this is not just a fling

I hope you find fate Anne, and it won't be a fling :)
