Meaningless Meanderings About You (to T.A.)

by Melanie A Bennett

I thought that there was truth in this life
That this time…finally it was real
How can feelings change so much
And yet in only one day
Yesterday you were my world
My life…my reason for happiness
Today…it’s so different
Perhaps I just think too much
Or like you…I worry too much
But whatever it is that I do…
I’m telling myself to just run…right now
No regrets…Leave before it gets deeper
Turn away before it gets more difficult
But never stop loving you

Hell, who am I kidding?
In a few hours, I will want you again
And this poem will mean nothing
Just like all of my meaningless meanderings in the past

Author's Note: This poem is about the love of my life. He is the perfect man for me and we were meant to be together. This is just about an issue that we had, but is now resolved. :)
