Mountains

by Michael Hamlin

Looking into the past
Your gleaming face echoes to me
Shining your hope and bright glory
Seizing my fears
And opening a new door to my future
A small morsel of your nectar touched my tongue
Filling me with hope
And a, now, bittersweet sadness
What if I were with you?
I'm not
But I still have your song to remind me
Your there waiting on me
If ever I wish to return
